West Virginia Therapists
Katie Davis
MSW, LGSW
Therapist
I began my career in the helping profession at Children’s Home Society, where I worked closely with children and families navigating trauma, instability, and major life transitions. That early experience shaped my belief in the power of safety, consistency, and genuine connection. I learned that healing often begins when someone feels truly seen, heard, and supported—especially during life’s most difficult moments.
From there, my work expanded into addiction services, supporting individuals and families affected by substance use and co-occurring challenges. I have experience providing outpatient and intensive services, with a focus on recovery, accountability, and rebuilding trust—both with oneself and with others. My approach is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and trauma-informed. I strive to meet clients where they are, honoring their resilience while helping them build practical tools for growth, stability, and long-term change.
Sherry Lord
MSW, LICSW
Psychotherapist, State Liaison and Clinical Director for the state of West Virginia
Hello, my name is Sherry Lord, a Licensed Independent Social Worker in West Virginia. I have been working in Behavioral health for more than 10 years in various capacities and have held clinical roles consistently since 2020. I see my role as a therapist as an Agent for Change, it is my role to help you change and grow into the vision you see for yourself, through the use of client centered, strength based and evidenced based practices in our session.
Seeing people change and grow in their lives is the driver for me to continue to do what I do. Offering a compassionate and safe environment where a person can be heard, validated, and supported is the basis for everything I do in therapy. What attracted me to this career is a passion for helping people.
Goal setting starts with exploring what the client wants the outcome of therapy to be, where do they see themselves at the end of our time together, and what do they want to see change as a result of therapy. Then I begin to assist them in setting a direction for their life and for the future sessions that become short term goals with achievable objectives.
